De Montfort University Leicester is a public university in the city of Leicester, England. It is a popular public institution located in Leicester, England. It was founded in 1992 as an organization that awards degrees in compliance with the Further and Higher Education Act. The 13th-century Earl of Leicester, Simon de Montfort, is credited with inspiring the name of De Montfort University. The university is frequently listed as one of the greatest in the United Kingdom. De Montfort University is placed 601–800 in the THE (Times Higher Education) University Ranking 2023, placing it among the top 800 universities in the nation. In the meantime, the university was placed 801–1000 in the QS World University Ranking 2024. Also, the university is well known for its cutting-edge instruction and research in special topics like footwear design and contour fashion, which are only offered by a few other universities.

Undergraduate Study

  1. A level or a Foundation course.
  2. There’s a chance to go to year two or three. You must submit comprehensive data, such as completed courses, grades attained, syllabus, and grading guidelines.
  3. Suppose you are unable to enroll straight in an undergraduate program. In that case, consider studying at Leicester International Pathway College, which is situated on the DMU campus, for an international first year or an international incorporated bachelor’s degree.

English Language Requirements

If English is not your first language, you must present an IELTS score or its equivalent. The IELTS prerequisites for undergraduates are:

  1. IELTS: 6.0 is required for art and Design, business, computing, and engineering studies.
  2. IELTS: 6.5 is required for law courses.
  3. For courses in media and humanities, IELTS 6.0–6.5
  4. IELTS: 6.5–7.5 for courses in science

Qualifications needed for postgraduate (taught) study

  1. A four-year bachelor’s degree (BSc or BEng) with a GPA of 2.2/4.0 or above from an accredited university or an equivalent
  2. A four-year bachelor’s degree (BA or BBA) with a GPA of 2.6/4.0 or above from an accredited university or an equivalent
  3. Some courses require a degree in a related field or to meet extra requirements for admission, such as a portfolio or work experience.
