Cumberland College is a regional college in Melfort, Nipawin, and Tisdale, Saskatchewan that offers postsecondary education in the province’s northeast. It was established in 1974. Cumberland University is ranked #83 in Regional Universities South in the Best Colleges 2022-2023 edition.

IELTS: Overall minimum score of Band 6.5 with a minimum score of 5.0 in each component.
TOEFL: An overall minimum score of 81, with a minimum score of 19 in each of reading, listening, speaking, and writing.
PTE: Academic Min. 58 – no score less than 50

Requirements: Grade 12 with a minimum 50% in English A30 and B30, Foundations 20 or Pre-Calculus 20, and any 20-level core science
International tuition: $17,000

Business Diploma

Program Start: September 5r, 2024
Application Deadline: August 28t 2024
Length: 2 years (4 semesters)
Requirements: Grade 12 with a minimum of 50% in ELA 30A or 30B and Foundations 30 or Pre-Calculus 30.
Computer experience is recommended
International Tuition: Year 1 – $17,500 Year 2 – $17,500

Continuing Care Assistant Certificate

Program Start: September 19, 2024
Application Deadline: September 15, 2024
Length: 1 year
Requirements: Grade 12 or successful completion of fifteen (15) post-secondary credits from a recognized institution.
International tuition: $17,500 CAD

Disability Support Worker

Program Start: September 11, 2024
Application Deadline: September 4, 2024
Length: 37 weeks
International Tuition: $17,000
Requirements: Grade 12
First Aid/Level C CPR (must provide by the first day of classes)

Health Care Cook Certificate

Program Start: September 5, 2024
Application Deadline: August 25 2024
Length: 39 Weeks
Requirements: Grade 10
International Tuition: $17,000

Office Administration Certificate

Program Start: August 28, 2023
Application Deadline: August 21t 2023
Length: 32 weeks

University Application Process: Step 1: Apply to the University of Saskatchewan OR the University of Regina

When completing the form, choose the College of Arts and Science. When asked on the form if you would like to study at another location, type in “Cumberland College.” You should also make arrangements to pay the $90 CAD application fee.

When completing the form, choose the College of Arts. When asked on the form if you would like to study at another location, type in “Cumberland College – Melfort.” You should also make arrangements to pay the $100 CAD application fee.

All Cumberland College University students apply directly to the University of Saskatchewan or the University of Regina, and therefore, the universities carry out all assessments of foreign credentials.

You can apply to all the programs offered at the University of Regina or the University of Saskatchewan.

Requirements: Applicants who do not meet the admission average but otherwise qualify for admission may be placed on a waitlist. Required high school classes Minimum admission average: 60%

Cumberland College Scholarship

Entrance Scholarships and General Awards, with a combined value of just over $100,000 are available to students enrolled in trade, technical, and university programs through Cumberland College. Although International students are not eligible for Entrance Scholarships, you are invited to apply for General Awards, which are presented in March of each year. Information about the General Awards is shared with students in late fall.

Applications for General Awards are completed online beginning in December.
Applications close: January 31st.
