UMS International Priority Scholarship (IPS) 2026 – Fully Funded

Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) in Indonesia offers the overseas Priority Scholarship (IPS), which is one of the most generous fully funded scholarships for overseas students. UMS International Priority Scholarship helps students at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD levels, and anyone from any country can apply.

UMS lets students apply without taking the IELTS test for the 2026 intake, which makes it easier for students from other countries to apply. This scholarship pays for tuition, living costs, housing, and other academic perks.

Why is no IELTS required

UMS accepts a wide range of English proficiency options and understands that many international students may not have access to IELTS. Therefore:

IELTS is NOT mandatory

UMS allows alternative documents to prove English proficiency

What You Can Submit Instead of IELTS

You may provide any one of the following as proof:

  • Medium of Instruction (MOI) Certificate – showing that your previous degree was taught in English

  • Other English tests like TOEFL ITP, TOEFL iBT, or Duolingo (optional, not required)

  • UMS English Placement Test – taken after selection if needed

This makes IPS one of the most accessible scholarships for students who have studied in English-medium institutions.

How to Apply for The PS Scholarship 2026

Step 1: Prepare All Documents

Collect your transcripts, passport, CV, MOI certificate, motivation letter, etc.

Step 2: Submit Online Application

  • Fill out the online IPS application form on the UMS international admissions portal

Step 3: Application Review

UMS reviews academic background, motivation, and documents.

Step 4: Interview (If Required)
