Leading Turkish state institution Hacettepe University is located in Ankara. It came into being on July 8th, 1967. In 2021, URAP gave it the top spot among Turkish universities. There are two primary campuses for the university. According to the QS World University Rankings 2026, it is rated #=571. According to Best Global Universities, Hacettepe University is placed 550th. Hacettepe University earned the TOP 50% in 113 academic subjects and was rated 2nd in Turkey and 801-1000 band globally in the THE World University Rankings 2026. While Hacettepe University placed 320th in the wide categories of life sciences and medicine in 2020. 70% of applicants are accepted.

Financial Aid and Scholarships Offered at Hacettepe University

As per the decision of the University Administrative Board and numbered 1782, of students who have chosen Hacettepe University as their firm (first) choice and have been placed in our university
a) Those who rank among the top ten will get free housing in Hacettepe guest houses,
b) Those who rank among the top hundred will get free housing in student dormitories
c) Those who come in the top three spots in their Faculties/Vocational Schools (across the entire faculty/vocational school) will get three free meals a day

(All are based on the rankings of students in Turkey’s national university exam, except for the TYT scores).
In addition, successful students needing financial support will get food support (one free meal a day) if they apply to the Directorate of Health, Culture, and Sports (if the application is valid).

Important Factors for Retaining Financial Aid

  1. To continue to be eligible for financial aid, students must keep their cumulative grade point average at or above 3.00 and renew their course registrations (in the fall and spring semesters) in the relevant academic years.
  2. If the cumulative grade point average falls below 3.00, the student loses his/her right to free housing or food support. However, those who have previously benefited from this right regain their right to free housing in female/male dormitories or food support (three free meals a day), if they raise their CGPA to or above 3.00 in the following years.
