Bachelor’s degree with a minimum average of 69% from a recognized University (not College or Polytechnic)

English Language Requirements

IELTS: Minimum band score of 6.5, with no less than 6.0 in each component.
TOEFL: a minimum score of 80 (Internet-based) with no less than 19 in each component.
PTE (Pearson Test of English – Academic): Minimum score of 58

Important Notes:
International Deposit. The requirement for all undergraduate international students is to submit an advance deposit, equivalent to one semester of tuition, meals, lodging, and health insurance.

CMU only accepts official transcripts sent to us directly by the Institution/School.  We will not accept scans, photos, or photocopies of any transcripts sent to us by the applicant.

Applications for Fall 2025 are now open! The application fee is waived until November 30. After November 30, a fee of $80 is required.
Applications for Winter 2025 are still being accepted. A non-refundable fee of $80 is required upon application.

June 30 for the Winter Semester
January 31 for the Spring/Summer Semester

Academic Merit Awards

Value: Each year up to 19 Merit Awards ($1000-$1500 per year up to four years) are available to students upon entering CMU.

Eligibility

Is completing a high school diploma or has no more than 30 credit hours of post-secondary education?
Plans to enroll in full-time studies at CMU (minimum 9 credit hours per semester).
Students must have a CMU Entrance Average of no less than 80%
A student may apply for one or all of the Merit Awards and also for a Leadership Scholarship. However, students may only receive one Merit Award (Academic, Music, Science, Business, or Athletic) or a Leadership Scholarship.

Continuing Eligibility: GPA of 3.5 Enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours per semester at CMU.
Students must submit their application forms and supporting materials by February 28 to be eligible. Application forms are available to current CMU applicants on their application portal. 

Science Merit Awards

Value: Each year 2 Science Merit Awards (maximum value $6,000; $1500 per year up to four years) are available to students entering CMU. To qualify for a Science Merit Award, students must apply and have one nomination submitted from someone who can speak to their suitability for study in the Bachelor of Science program (e.g. teacher, employer)

Is completing a high school diploma or is transferring from another post-secondary. (If transferring, the award would be prorated to begin at 2nd or 3rd year whatever applies to the credits transferred.)

Is accepted into the Bachelor of Science Plans to enroll in full-time studies at CMU (minimum 9 credit hours per semester).

Continuing Eligibility: GPA of 3.5 Enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours per semester at CMU Continued enrolment in a CMU science degree

The following are the requirements for the consideration for the Science Merit Award:
A completed Bachelor of Science Intent Form, including 250 answers to the question posed by the science faculty group (is on the intent form). This must be completed through your application portal.

CMU Business Merit Awards

Merit Awards recognize CMU students who are gifted in specific areas of achievement and who desire to excel and contribute to CMU in these areas. Each year, up to 19 Merit Awards ($1,000-$1,500 per year up to four years) are given to students upon entering CMU.
