University of Canterbury New Zealand

The University of Canterbury is a government research institution with its headquarters in Christchurch, New Zealand. It began working in 1873 as Canterbury Institution, the University of New Zealand’s first constituent college. Also, it is the second longest-living institution in New Zealand, behind the University of Otago. It attained university autonomy in 1961. The university is well known for its science and engineering programs, with the world’s ninth-ranked Civil Engineering program among them.

University of Canterbury Entry Requirements:

University of Canterbury Undergraduate programs:

HSC / Intermediate students are not eligible for direct entry. Study foundation year or
One year of successful study (B average / First Class / First Division) toward an undergraduate degree at a recognized university

B.A / B.com / BSC 2 years’ degree program
A Level: at least three A levels pass with at least one A grade & 2C or above.

University of Canterbury Postgraduate programs

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum overall grade of B grade or 70% – 75% in a relevant subject area.

University of Canterbury English Language Requirements :

IELTS: Minimum overall score of 6.0, with no band score lower than 5.5
Minimum overall score of 6.5, with no band score lower than 6.0

TOEFL: Minimum overall score of 80, with a minimum score of 19 in Reading, Listening, and Writing

Minimum overall score of 90, with a minimum score of 19 in Reading, Listening, and Writing


PTE: Minimum overall score of 50, with no Communicative Skills, score below 42 Minimum overall score of 58, with no Communicative Skills, score below 50
