Capilano University scholarships for undergraduates

Capilano Excellence Scholarships (CAPX)

  1. Capilano University offers the most prestigious undergraduate scholarship, the Capilano Excellence Scholarship (CAPX).
  2. Its value is up to $56,000. It is a domestic tuition and tuition surcharge fee waiver for a full academic year of studies (up to $14,000 per year). It is renewable for up to three additional academic years (eight terms).
  3. To be eligible for the CAPX scholarship, you must be a new Canadian high school graduate with a minimum 90% admission average.

These awards will consider the following applications:

  1. Apply to CapU,
  2. Fill out the online Entrance Awards application using your myCapU Account.

Entrance Scholarships

  1. Capilano University offers many additional entry awards for applicants with exceptional academic achievement.
  2. The value of these scholarships varies from $500 to $10,000.
  3. To be eligible for an admission scholarship, you must be a new student at Capilano University with a solid academic record.

Capilano Community Leadership Award (CCLA)

Amount: up to $2,500

Number of awards: 35

  • 20 (high school students)
  • 10 (transfer students)
  • 5 (new program students)

Nomination Criteria

1. Minimum GPA of 3.0 as determined by the University (75% of BC high school).

• Applicants must have graduated from a BC high school.

2. Application to Capilano University;

• Applicants do not have to be admitted into a program at Capilano University at the time of nomination.

3. Exhibit volunteerism and leadership in the community. Students wishing to receive this award must complete an online application and a worksheet on leadership skills and community and campus engagement.

Process

1. All Capilano Community Leadership Entrance Award applications require a completed nomination statement from a BC High School Representative.

2. Representatives may complete as many nominations as desired; however, only one student per high school may receive an award.

3. Students must also submit a completed online application and a Leadership Skills and Community and Campus Engagement Worksheet. You can download this worksheet from the Entrance Awards homepage.

Note:

  1. University-wide scholarships should be awarded to Capilano University (CapU) graduate students, which aligns with the institution’s commitment to offering superior graduate programs.
  2. Capilano University (CapU) is a primarily undergraduate teaching institution that doesn’t offer PhD programs. Consequently, more D-specific scholarships need to be available at CapU.
