Athabasca University, a public university in Canada, is online distance learning and providing Athabasca University scholarships. One of Alberta’s four comprehensive academic and research institutions, the University of Alberta, was established in 1970 and was the first in Canada to focus on distance learning. In the continental rankings, #417 ranked Athabasca; in the country rankings, #47 ranked Athabasca; and in the international rankings, Athabasca ranked #1636. With more than 850 courses available in a wide range of subjects, Athabasca University Canada allows students from all backgrounds and ages to pursue their academic objectives anywhere globally.

Athabasca University scholarships and awards can be granted to students based on academic performance and other factors. These can encompass one’s identity, area of study, or personal responsibilities like volunteering, raising a family, or community involvement. Financial need determines bursaries, and they often adhere to the same standards as grants and scholarships.

Details of the award

Current students enrolled in Athabasca University’s Bachelor of Arts program receive this award yearly if they have the highest G.P.A. after completing their first 15 A.U. credits.

Please be aware that an application process is unnecessary for this sort of prize. The A.U Student Awards Unit selects the honorees through an internal selection process and notifies them immediately of their award. All eligible candidates are considered.

A.U. Undergraduate Outstanding Achievement Scholarships

Value:                         $1,000 for degree program recipients; $500 for certificate or diploma recipients.

Number awarded:     One for each year of an undergraduate degree, certificate, or diploma program.

Details of the award

Awarded yearly to current students, between July 1 and June 30 of the previous year, completed their undergraduate program study in their first year (1 to 30 credits), second year (31 to 60 credits), third year (61 to 90 credits), or fourth year (91 to 120 credits) with the highest grade average on the best 15 A.U. credits. To be eligible, students must earn a G.P.A. of 3.60 or more on their top 15 A.U. credits during their first, second, third, or fourth year of study.

As previously stated, students may be awarded scholarships once during their program year.

Please be aware that no application process is necessary for this award. The A.U. Student Awards Unit selects the honorees through an internal selection process and notifies them immediately of their award. The selection committee considers every eligible applicant.

AU First Nation Colleges Student Awards

Value:                                               Tuition costs associated with three credit Undergraduate Athabasca University courses

Number awarded:                           Three per competition, two competitions per year

Award details

The Athabasca University (A.U.) Awards honor the accomplishments of Alberta First Nation College students who aspire to attend Athabasca University (A.U.). Financial barriers impede these students from doing so, but the awards aim to recognize and help them overcome this challenge. Students who attend or originate from First Nation Colleges in Alberta are eligible to apply; students from Red Crow College may be given preference. Reapplying students may qualify for more than one award.

For a candidate to be qualified to qualify for this award, they must fulfill the following requirements:

  1. Enroll in classes at A.U. now. (Certificate, degree program, or unclassified).
  2. Show that you have financial necessity.
  3. Show that they are motivated to attain their academic objectives.
  4. Please send the completed application and any supporting documentation to the Student Awards Unit, Office of the Registrar at A.U.
  5. A Red Crow College (or any First Nation College in Alberta) G.P.A. of 2.0 or above
  6. A.U. G.P.A. of 2.0 or above is required to reapply for this grant.
