University of Portsmouth is a public university in Portsmouth, England. In the Government Teaching Excellence Framework, it is one of just four institutions in the South East of England to receive a Gold rating. Entry Requirements Undergraduate

High School:

10-Secondary school certificate: Typically, a foundation year is required before enrolling in an undergraduate program, like a bachelor’s degree.
A level: AAB–BBB
International Baccalaureate: requires between 24 and 31 points.

Postgraduate

You must hold a four-year bachelor’s degree with upper second class (2:1) from an accredited higher education institution; your GPA must be between 2.6 and 2.8 or 65% to 70%.

English Language Requirements Undergraduate

IELTS: 6.0, with no component below 5.5
TOEFL: 79 with a minimum of 18 in Reading, 17 in Listening, and 20 in Speaking, 17 in Writing.

Postgraduate

IELTS: 6.5–7.0, with no component below 6.0
TOEFL: 91 with a minimum of 20 in Reading, 19 in Listening, 21 in Speaking, 20 in Writing.

University of Portsmouth Scholarship undergraduate and postgraduate

Vice Chancellor’s Global Development Scholarship

Eligible students can apply for the Vice Chancellor’s Global Development Scholarship in September 2024 and January 2025. The scholarship will be applied to your first year of study as a £2,500 fee discount.

Terms and conditions:

If you’re studying an undergraduate course, you must be a self-funded student on a full-time, on-campus course with annual fees of £16,200 or above for September 2024 and January 2025 entry.

  1. To be eligible for September 2024 or January 2025 admission, you must be a self-funded full-time on-campus student enrolled in a postgraduate research or teaching degree with annual costs of £16,200 or more.
  2. Students who have previously taken courses at the University of Portsmouth are not eligible for the scholarship; instead, they will receive the alum discount.
  3. Students advancing to the University from ICP (International College Portsmouth) are eligible for the grant.
  4. The scholarship will only apply to your first year of study and will take the form of a £2,500 fee discount, starting at the time of enrollment.
  5. The scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount, fee, or scholarship offer.
  6. Your Confirmation of Acceptance for Study (CAS) will include information about the discounted fee. After receiving an unconditional offer to study at the University of Portsmouth and paying your deposit, you will receive this final paperwork.
  7. To be eligible for this award, candidates must have been determined to be international students to pay tuition. Nationality determines eligibility.

Chancellor’s Global Academic Merit Scholarship:

Eligible candidates will be considered for the Chancellor’s Global Academic Merit Scholarship beginning with the September 2024 entrance year. This scholarship will be applied to your first year of study as a £5,000 fee discount.

The scholarship is awarded based on merit, and candidates must have applied by the deadline and accepted their academic offer. Applicants must submit this form with their application for it to be considered. The University’s scholarship panel will next review the applications, and soon after they are submitted, the selected individuals will receive an email confirming their position.

To qualify for this grant, you must be a self-funded international student enrolled only at our Portsmouth location. This award is only available to applicants classified as international students to pay tuition fees.

  4. The scholarship application form must be submitted with your application by August 16, 2024, for September 2024 entrance for it to be taken into consideration.
  5. The scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount, fee, or scholarship offer.
  6. Your Confirmation of Acceptance for Study (CAS) will include information about the discounted fee. After receiving an unconditional offer to study at the University of Portsmouth and paying your deposit, you will receive this final paperwork.
  7. To be eligible for this award, candidates must have been determined to be international students to pay tuition.
  8. Only those selected for further consideration will be notified; we cannot provide personalized comments due to the volume of submissions.
